Hit the Road, Jack ✨
"You fucked up. You fucked up something big. And now the big house, the law man, the devil and all his little hellions are chasing your sorry ass down. Time to hit the road, Jack, and get gone."

Hit the Road Jack is an evocative journaling / duelling game steeped in Americana, of a sinner being chased by justice along a long, long road. I don't think I've ever seen anything capture this specific theme before, but it's a trope that's quite popular in media, so I'm surprised I've not seen it captured like this.
The rules for this game are only about 6 pages, with the other 52 being taken up by the prompts needed to play. When played by two players, players chase board -game-style spaces with drawn tarot cards determining where each player moves, as well as prompts to get players into the story of what’s happening and why. It’s designed for short form play, with the longest suggested session being no more than 14 cards drawn. It ends quickly and brutally, with one or both Jack’s typically going out in a blaze of glory. As a journaling game, it seems to be focussed on a thoughtful experience, getting inside the head of one of the Jacks, of a man chased or a man chasing. All in, a very interesting game that I could definitely see myself giving a couple of tries, if just to see all the prompts and what ideas I might have.
At a price point $6.66 or even as part of the $10 Solo but not Alone Bundle, I could definitely see myself getting my money's worth and a fun story or two.
